On March 7, the City of Oakley will be hosting a Composting Workshop at 7:00 pm in the Council Chambers. This is now the fourth workshop the city will have put on which helps inform residents on backyard composting and its benefits.
The workshop is hosted by Todd Sutton, who has been involved with waste reduction efforts for many years. The workshop will show you how easy it is to composting your yard trimmings and food scraps and the benefits it provides to your yard, garden, and environment.
It appears the best part of the event is the composting bins available for purchase at a reduced cost. If you attend the workshop, these bins are just $49 as they actually retail for over $100. The SoilSaver is constructed with 75% post-consumer recycled content and comes with a 25 year warranty.
