I would encourage each citizen of East Contra Costa County to attend Monday’s Special Meeting of the Board where final language of the proposed Parcel Tax will be completed. It is imperative that this tax include a Sunset Clause or its a non-starter and it will go down in flames–people will not vote for a tax that never goes away.
As a citizen of Oakley, I made a formal request to Chief Henderson on Feb 8 via email to have an agenda item dedicated specifically to a Sunset Clause be included on the agenda–that apparently went ignored.
Here is the cliff notes version of the Agenda.
