The Len Augustine crowd took my argument for Jim Frazier representing Contra Costa County last week and turned it around as the reason for Solano County to have Len Augustine represent them.
Per the letter below, it mimic’s my Letter to the Editor in the Brentwood Press except they switched out the accomplishments, the County, and Candidate to Len Augustines information–nice play!
Per my Letter,
Jim Frazier, who is a Democrat, is the only Contra Costa County candidate in the race, which makes it vital our representation in Sacramento be local. He is vested in East County, whereas the five other candidates are from Solano County and do not fully comprehend our needs and concerns.
In a primary that will favor his Republican and Independent opponent, it’s vital Contra Costa County voters send in their absentee ballots and show up to the polls supporting Jim Frazier. I urge voters to put party politics aside and understand that the best representation in Sacramento for AD-11 is when we have someone local fighting for us.
Would you rather have someone from Oakley and from Contra Costa County who understands our issues represent us? Or someone who is in Solano County?
The choice is an easy one. Vote for Contra Costa County!
Let Solano Resident Represent Us

This election we have a chance to send one of Solano County’s own to the California Assembly: Len Augustine.
A former mayor of Vacaville, Augustine would be one of the first people in recent history to represent our county while at the same time actually residing in our county. Aside from his 14 years of service on the Vacaville City Council, he is a retired Air Force colonel and Vietnam War veteran. He even commanded the 89th Military Airlift Wing at Andrews Air Force Base, best known for its role maintaining and operating the Air Force One fleet.
His military background will be a definite asset on issues of importance to Travis Air Force Base, and with the state looking to balance its books on the back of local governments, his strong foundation in that area will be a definite asset as well.
It’s time we had one of our own representing us in Sacramento — a vote for Len Augustine is a vote for Solano County.
