Kudos go out to Bruce Connelley who issued a Public Comment as a private citizen as opposed to a board member. He explained how DG Market was not the vision the council had years ago, but was having trouble separating being a resident vs. a board member. He asked the board members who were not from Oakley to look at how they would feel if a dollar market was their anchor location for the downtown. While he did ultimately vote for it as a board member, his comments were appreciated by me.
With both bids accepted, they now move onto the States Oversight Committee for final approval. During the last Oakley City Council, the council approved the sale of both properties. Tonight was the final approval needed before the state can become the finalize decision maker.
