Former Oakley Councilman Passes Away

The City of Oakley lost one of its original council members on Tuesday morning as  Jeff Huffaker passed away.  Those who knew Mr. Huffaker spoke very highly of him while I’ve seen Mr. Huffaker in the courtroom and enjoyed his personality and ability to see through fibbers and nonsense–he was tough, but very fair.

In 2002, Huffaker received 32.8% of the vote (1,906) which was by far the highest total with Carol Rios coming in second at 19.9%. Mr. Huffaker stayed on the council until he joined the bench.
